Crystal Palace Snap Up Former Charlton Midfielder on Free Transfer from Bristol
Crystal Palace have moved swiftly to bolster their midfield options by signing Michael Adeyemi, a 25-year-old free agent who left Charlton Athletic last season before a short spell with Bristol City.
Adeyemi, who made 38 appearances for Charlton in League One, was released last summer and had been training with Bristol’s reserve squad to maintain fitness. Palace have now stepped in to offer the energetic midfielder a two-year deal at Selhurst Park.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner praised the signing:
“Michael has the kind of hunger and energy we’re looking for. He impressed us in training and we’re excited to see him in a Premier League environment.”
Adeyemi said joining Palace was “a dream come true” and promised to “work hard and repay the faith shown in me.”
The free-agent deal continues Palace’s strategy of picking up talent without hefty transfer fees, following their recent acquisitions of young prospects from the Championship.
